Keynote #4 at #ISBNPA2025 by Professor Melody Ding invited us to reflect on the role of physical activity and diet research in today’s complex and shifting world.
She reminded us to align the What (data collection), the How (good methodologies), and the Why (causal relationships and implications).
At the #ISBNPA2025 Gala Dinner, we were honored to witness a powerful Māori haka - an expression of identity, strength, and unity.
Grateful to the performers for sharing this tradition. A reminder of the richness of te ao Māori and the importance of culture, respect, and connection. 🌿
Day 3 was a blessing at #ISBNPA2025! ✨
From engaging presentations to meaningful connections, we wrapped up with a beautiful Gala Dinner at Auckland Town Hall.
As we welcome the final day, let’s carry forward the spirit of manaakitanga that’s shaped our time in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. 🌿🌏
🌟 Last night's ISBNPA dinner was unforgettable! My WHOOP recovery index may say 2%, but those 2% are pure gold. Feeling emotionally recharged by the incredible energy and amazing people we shared the night with! 🎉💪 #ISBNPA2025 @isbnpa.bsky.social @isbnpa-is.bsky.social

Fascinating talk at #isbnpa2025 about ballistic resistance training Vs conventional resistance training on physical functioning in #postmenopause 🏋️ by Dr Elisa Marques
LOTS of conversations about values at #ISBNPA2025. The ‘why’ behind behaviour change does not need to be disease prevention. It can be being a role model, ⬆️time w/ family, ⬇️impact on the environment etc. Photo: Jen Gale. Thx Meredith Peddie - leading this research & inviting me to be involved.
At #ISBNPA2025 I’ve had the opportunity to talk with clinical/academic folks about how #intuitiveeating could be supported in their populations of interest. Yes, I’m happy to share our resources and give advice for what might/might not work in your context! Thanks to Jen Gale for the photo!
Keynote #3 at #ISBNPA2025 by Professor Terryann Clark offered a moving and insightful exploration of well-being among Indigenous Māori youth — calling for interventions that are truly culturally responsive, respectful, and rooted in Indigenous worldviews. 🌿
A moving and inspiring Keynote from Dr Terryann Clark 🪴
Thank you

@nursedrtc.bsky.social was today’s keynote speaker at #ISBNPA2025. Loved the 2nd to last quote about not diagnosing a plant with wilting plant syndrome - change the conditions!
Excellent summary for an excellent keynote for Terryann Clark at #ISBNPA2025 @isbnpa.bsky.social

Good morning #ISBNPA2025!
At #ISBNPA2025 in a wonderful session on ultra-processed foods that has turned into a deep discussion on gender inequities and time scarcity; when focusing on the food system alone we may be ignoring much bigger probs. How do we make it so we have the time & resources to cook & eat healthy foods?
Day 2 of #ISBNPA2025 brought powerful conversations, meaningful connections, and fresh perspectives - from science to culture, reflection to action.
As we head into Day 3, we’re energized and ready for more learning, sharing, and inspiration here in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. 🌿
A few speakers have brought up the issue of fat/weight stigma at #ISBNPA2025. I’m presenting a poster on a weight inclusive approach to supporting healthier eating and physical activity habits tomorrow, Friday.
A special evening at the #ISBNPA2025 Fellows Dinner — surrounded by some of the most familiar and foundational faces of our community.
This gathering is always more than a meal — it's a moment to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the people who’ve helped shape #ISBNPA over the years. 🌿

Dr Jen Gale discussing her poster with delegates.

Great to be able to support my colleagues presenting such excellent research at #ISBNPA2025
I promised myself that I would be posting more regularly for #ISBNPA2025. I'm not being quite successful at that. But this one seemed important to me: to let you know that I will be presenting on June 13, 8AM Auckland time, at the Hunua 1 room. I hope to see you there @isbnpa.bsky.social
