A plaque at Presidents Hall, University of Alabama, explaining its name. The building was originally named for a past president who was a confederate, an enslaver, and a person unworthy of honor. One wonders how long this plaque gets to stay with Alabama’s new anti-DEI laws already targeting the department whose name was changed and whose instructors may no longer speak about the history of slavery and its legacy on campus
