Since I was the only person at #iaido last week, I was able to work on a lot of stuff. Most notably, I did this after using my #tanrenbo, so I was able to use my core muscles more. If only my leg muscles were more balanced...

Would be nice to do some #Aikido or #iaido in Barcelona while there (I visited one dojo during a previous visit, but can’t remember which!) but sadly this time I probably won’t have time (slim chance for Thursday) and might be tricky getting a gi and hakama to fit into carryon luggage…

This was not unexpected. He leaves us after a long battle with cancer.
If ever a man loved collecting various sword waza, it was him. He's leaving a big hole in Canadian sword arts.
Also the man who sold me the sword (my first) I treasure now.

I used to practice Iaido and Kendo.
This katana was part of that chapter.
I still keep it clean and intact…
but a broken heart makes it hard to step back onto the tatami.

I caught a bit of an itch to practise some mild tameshigiri to assist with my #iaido. Cardboard rolls, maybe the odd tatami. I really want to spend a minimal amount and for some katana that is close enough to my iaito (so not something wide and heavy specific to tameshigiri).
