Gisteren was ik ook in Schiedam om er de ijsvogels te bekijken vanachter de gluurmuur die pal voor een nestwand is geplaatst. Het wachten werd beloond: daar was plots het mannetje: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jx6Z... #Schiedam #vogelskijken #ijsvogel #natuur
Op weg naar huis vanmiddag gestopt omdat ik een #ijsvogel zag. Prachtig!
Zo leuk dat ik deze gewoon in het #HaagseBos zag terwijl ik met Pasen 2x naar #Clingendael ben geweest om hem te spotten. Geluksmoment 🥰
Het 2e cadeautje was een #ijsvogel op een plek waar ik m nog niet eerder zag en waar merlin m blijkbaar ook niet verwachte 🥳🥳

This kingfisher I spotted in Bloeidaal after a day on which I photographed my first good heron in flight, first lapwings, first dunnock and first stonechat. That truly was a great day, exactly 1 year and a day ago. Canon R10, RF 100-400 21-03-2025
This kingfished I photographed at the Waterwingebied, which is the park next to my apartment building. This male just came out of a tunnel in a clay mound on the corner of a pond. A week later I would even spot and photograph this one and its mate together, but since I only had 4 photos to go with this post, I picked this one. Canon R10, RF 100-400 29-03-2025
So far the best and most detailed shot I've managed to take of a perching kingfisher. This was taken from a birding hide, so I did have some advantages over all my previous encounters, however I know that my skills have improved a lot that even with the same camera and lens I've already had for over a year I wouldn't have been able to take it this sharp.
