It was on this day in 2014 that one of the most tragic episodes of the #Russian_Ukrainian war before the full-scale invasion took place – the breakout of our soldiers from the encirclement near #Ilovaisk.
near #Ilovaisk through a “#green_corridor.” Our defenders did not lay down their arms and attempted to break out of the trap. At that time, 366 #Ukrainian heroes fell under enemy fire.
Today, we honour their deeds and resilience, as well as the memory of all defenders who gave their lives for
