My combat system is finally complete and functioning exactly as I want it to! Wandering Spirit is my first hostile character, who begins passive, and she will follow you from room to room after becoming hostile and attack you. I'm so proud πŸ₯Ή

Oh boy, it took all night and all morning, but I finally managed to override Inform 7's default climb behaviour to allow the player to >climb stairs. Even redefining it wasn't working quite right.

This simple bit of gameplay right here led to me going down a rabbithole of discovery that the player DOESN'T EXIST. Somehow the player doesn't exist. I don't know how I did that, but I need to figure out how to fix it πŸ˜…

I did it! Well, for the most part. I have a functioning battery replacement system again, which took ages. Now I need to establish charge depletion of batteries. That shouldn't be too hard, I think.

Errors can be a good thing in Inform 7. They help me figure out what I need to do to get my system working if I pay attention. I just made my way through basic flashlight rules successfully, now I just have to define batteries (the hard part!)

Inform's built in cleaning feature threw me for a loop. I couldn't seem to override it! I problem-solved my way out of it though and now have a new spooky scene for players to enjoy~
