...side of things could provide me with some fun for a little while.

I'd still prefer games like Mario Strikers or SEGA Soccer Slam, but games like IVG, I could happily play for a little while and not regret the time spent.

...than the above mentioned games, do have a certain charm to them.

For someone like me, these games are the sort of "more serious" football games I would play.
