One of last summer's beautiful beastly Alitta williami for #InternationalPolychaeteDay I hope to see more this year

It's #InternationalPolychaeteDay, and we've got something for you to celebrate. ❤️

@mbarinews.bsky.social has GREAT NEW RED TOMOPTERIS worm video for #worldpolychaeteday #internationalpolychaeteday youtu.be/PII8AvmEvnE?...
I'm not quite awake fully yet but I have lots of #InternationalPolychaeteDay stuff to share
I never shared this video of the nereid worm I saw last year because we didn't have video here then, but now you can see this fabulous worm in action for #InternationalPolychaeteDay!
Resharing this glorious worm for #InternationalPolychaeteDay.

Ooh, I didn't know! Happy #internationalpolychaeteday!
Happy #InternationalPolychaeteDay! For me, I celebrate polychaete worms that make distinctive burrows, such as this shell-lined one constructed by a plumed worm (Diopatra cuprea), which sometimes erode out of their shallow-marine environments & are dropped onto Georgia-coast beaches. 🧪🪱 #ichnology
Happy #InternationalPolychaeteDay 😀 Sharing this incredible lungworm painted by Convex Seascape Survey artist in residence @naomihart.bsky.social @exetermarine.bsky.social

To celebrate, here’s a glimpse of the bioluminescence of our gossamer worms! This video was captured in the lab by @nadiave.bsky.social using a monochrome camera — so it's in black and white — but in real life, the worms glow in a stunning bright yellow.
four colour illustrations of different polychaete species. All in shades of yellow, orange and red
Happy #InternationalPolychaeteDay! To celebrate these worm-derful creatures we've selected some hand drawn illustrations of species collected in #Plymouth by Elsie Sexton, during her time working @thembauk.bsky.social
We appreciate Museums Victoria's efforts to record our biodiversity! In 2014 they published these images that help us recognise the richness of Australia's segmented worm population 🪱. #InternationalPolychaeteDay. www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/58949919

Happy #InternationalPolychaeteDay! There are over 13000 polychaete species that have been described – so take a moment to appreciate these segmented worms. Most of them are marine worms, often living in the benthic zone, and they are stunners! www.biodiversitylibrary.org/page/33543710
7 tube worms of a taxon I cannot determine. They have white tipped blue/purple radioles (feathery stuff) in a spiral that looks like 2 concentric spirals. They are mostly in a group, with 2 away, on the muddy and rocky bottom of one of my dives in Bali
Yes it's Canada Day, but moreover, #InternationalPolychaeteDay!
