Model guidance has been insisting on a sharp northeastward turn for #Invest98W for days now, but it has failed to materialize. It remains to be seen how soon the disturbance will become wrapped up in the mid-latitude westerlies and move toward #Taiwan.

The sun rises over #Invest98W in the South China Sea. The disturbance is becoming better organized and could become a tropical depression or storm later today.
