#Amatsukaze was laid down with her older sister #Isokaze at Kure on October 5, 1916. Post-completion, her service record is difficult to pin down. My research doesn't show her taking part in the action in the South Seas, Mediterranean, or Southeast Indian Ocean during the #FirstWorldWar. 2/4

Shinano's escorts were destroyers #Isokaze #Yukikaze and #Hamakaze, who had just returned from #LeyteGulf. The three sisters served together nearly throughout the entire war; they had a reputation as ‘luck vampires’, the ships they were escorting usually sank while they went undamaged.
