They were talanted in the ways of visual trickery and deception, but it was also speculated that the practice of such magic made them go mad, leading to their disappearance one dark, cold night. Deep into the surrounding forests, the last sign of the illusionist was some of their equipment alongside the leavings of a ritual of unknown purposes. The illusionist was never seen again. Many years passed and people had somewhat forgotten about the illusionist, Simply brushing off their disappearance as the dangers of the forest taking yet another soul. The ritual site remains untouched and unvisited out of fear. and is now inhabited by a tall, friendly masked creature of unknown origin. Some say it’s the ghost of the illusionist, others who practice magic suspect something more sinister.
