Mailbox Flowers Throw Pillow Clematis 'Jackmanii' (Late Large-Flowered Clematis) is a Clematis cultivar. When it was introduced in 1862, it was the first of the modern large-flowered hybrid clematises of gardens. It is a sweetly scented flower in the buttercup family, a climber with large violet-purple blooms, still among the most familiar climbers seen in gardens. This particular image was taken outside my home, where these beautiful vine plants have covered my mailbox ("Mailbox Flowers")
