The exhibit explores one woman’s journey from postwar Japan to a new life in the DFW area of Texas as a Japanese war bride, and complements the Smithsonian show #JapaneseWarBrides. Both now open!

Between 1947 and early 1960s, nearly 45,000 Japanese women immigrated to America as wives of US military servicemembers. These young women left their homes to build lives within the complexities of postwar America. Explore their experiences in the Smithsonian show #JapaneseWarBrides, opening Dec 14.
