Both of my inlaws had health issues, so I went to provide support. Each day after lunch, I went for a long walk. One day, I found koinobori flying over the riverbed. I didn't know then that I wouldn't see Japan or my inlaws again until April 2023. 😷

Happy memories
It took me a long time to get to Tokyo - and I don't mean the flight! - so when I did the very first night I headed straight to Shibuya. I felt like a kid at Disneyland!

Landing at Haneda and taking the monorail into the city always fills me with joy, it’s a sign of my Japanese adventure just starting! No amount of jet lag can crush my excitement!

I saw so many things while I was in Japan. My favorite memories were the quieter ones like finding a park full of plum blossoms, walking Todoroki gorge, finding a peaceful part that's off to the side of Sensoji Temple and seeing Ueno park at night.

Being a fan of cats we enjoyed Gotokuji temple and surrounding Setagaya greatly, such a nice neighbourhood. We even saw the new maneki neko train!
