I was mostly in the Tokyo area. The first area outside of Tokyo was in Kawagoe. It was pretty busy but still fun. A city known for their sweet potatoes. The second is Ome. Technically a suburb of Tokyo but barely any tourists and it's beautiful.

Ochobo Inari is hard to get to without a car, but it is a fascinating shrine in Gifu Prefecture. The mystical box is something that I haven't seen at any other shrine. Have you?

Well I've only been to Japan once so far, and it was Tokyo and Kyoto so I haven't really been off the golden route yet. So here's some pictures from Gotokuji temple, since that's a less popular Tokyo spot.

Kanazawa is a great city accessible on the Hokuriku Shinkansen. It’s famous for its historic tea district, gold leaf production, one of the “three most beautiful gardens” in Japan, and its massive wooden gate in front of its station.

Off the golden route
Went to the Vissel Kobe v Osaka C football match at the impressive Noevir Stadium. Kobe won 1-0, and also won the title that year.
Where else but Japan would you see a gents toilet at football as clean as this - at the END of the game?!!
