In 2001 I was the agent for Chester and had the pleasure of meeting #JohnPrescot not long after that incident. He was keen to move on but I was thrilled to tell him about a call from a woman who said “if he can defend himself he can defend the country.” I remember the twinkle in his eyes. RIP

Tiny #JohnPrescot story / years ago I worked for the Environment Agency and went to a meeting at DEFRA in London that fell under his ODPM at the time. Whilst signing in I felt the presence of someone behind me….
