Trump chose him to be the civilian head of DoD *so that he would order war crimes committed*.

Everything Hegseth is doing is what he was appointed to do-which is why
Donald Trump needs to be impeached, convicted, and incarcerated.

Philosophically and practically the notion of "just war" is self-refuting nonsense. All war is about theft. Every war is begun because of the ruling elite's insatiable greed for acquisition.
Every war is a resource war. It will always masquerade as ethnic, cultural, political, especially religious conflict, but it is always about acquisition. Innocents will die and their lost lives will mean nothing to ruling elites who always have the resources to survive to the bitter end.

just war theory

Just war theory is a traditional, ethics-based framework defining when (jus ad bellum) and how (jus in bello) nations can morally wage war. It aims to limit conflict by requiring a just cause, proper authority, and proportionality, serving as a bridge between absolute pacifism and realism. It requires war to be a last resort and often aims for a just peace jus post bellum).

Key Components and Principles

Jus ad Bellum (Entering War):

• Just Cause: Defending against aggression, protecting human rights, or correcting a major wrong.

• Legitimate Authority: Only authorized leaders (e.g., heads of state) can declare war.

• Right Intention: The goal must be to restore peace, not to gain power or territory.

• Last Resort: All diplomatic options must be exhausted.

• Reasonable Chance of Success: Avoids pointless, desperate, or reckless violence.

• Proportionality: The good achieved must outweigh the evil caused by the conflict.

• Jus in Bello (Conduct During War):
• Discrimination/Non-combatant Immunity: Soldiers must distinguish between combatants and civilians.

• Proportionality: The amount of force used must be proportional to the goal; unnecessary destruction is prohibited.
• Jus post Bellum (Aftermath):

• Justice requires that the postwar settlement is just, aiming to restore peace rather than merely punishing the enemy.

Historical Development and Modern Application

• Roots: The theory was developed early in the Christian church, notably by figures like St. Augustine and later codified by Thomas Aquinas, drawing on classical ideas from Cicero.

• Modern Day: It is applied in humanitarian interventions, such as cases of genocide, and has been updated by international laws like the Geneva Convention to address modern conflicts. It is often used to guide military ethical decisions in scenarios where conflict is imminent.

The criteria are split into two groups:

and

#JusInBello
("right conduct in war").

Historically many were #Abolitionist.

Neo-conservatives’ Policies in the Middle East - Stratheia An analysis of how neoconservative influence and the Israel lobby shaped U.S. wars in the Middle East, defying ethical and legal norms.

The 2003 invasion of Iraq violated the core principles of Just War Theory. No just cause. No moral grounds. Only geopolitical agendas pushed by neoconservative influence.
