I am not a weirdo. A satellite map showing the confluence of the Rivers Tame and Trent. The labels of the River Tame upstream of the confluence, the River Trent at the confluence, and the River Trent downstream of the confluence are all circled in yellow, with crude red arrows showing the direction of flow. There is a big yellow question mark by the River Trent label downstream of the confluence. This reflects the fact that the Tame is clearly the river the Trent is flowing into, NOT the other way round, and therefore the watercourse after the confluence should be called the Tame, not the Trent. I repeat: I am not a weirdo.
If we all get to rename a body of water, I am going to right a historic injustice by renaming what is now the portion of the #RiverTrent after it dribbles into the mighty #RiverTame. Henceforth, it shall be the Tame that flows all the way to the Humber estuary, not the Trent.
