I knew we were in trouble! We all rallied but a lot of people stayed home. Plus #MooseAlgorithums ! Now we’re back to 2016 again but far more dangerous. #MemorialDay2025 #KelseyPark #LakePark #Floriduh is this a #ConfederateFlag? @liney1103.bsky.social WTF🥵
Wooden broken bridge still in need of repairs, blocked off with metal railings and a bright red hurdle.
A cheeky squirrel who thought I had food but he was too late. I counted six squirrels in the area west of the upper lake.
Huge rhododendron bush, bright fuchsia pink on eastern bank of the upper lake, close to the playground. Some cow parsley in the foreground.
Only saw one swan, female perhaps on the nest.
Went to #KelseyPark in #Beckenham as the silt dredging in the lake has finished. Several large patches of bare earth where the trucks were parked, will need re-turfing, but apart from that park seems to be back to normal.
Huge old London plane tree with a strangely bulging trunk; two geese standing in front of it.
Silver birch tree on its side, brought down by the high winds in the recent storm. There were many trees felled but most of them have already been dealt with by the park gardening team.
Two Egyptian geese (which are really a type of duck) are performing a courtship ritual on the edge of the lake, lifting their heads and almost entwining then bending down to the water.

Upper end of park near the Chinese Garage entrance, deep water and a view of the bridge
This is the upper area of the lake (which in my 40 years of visiting the park has never been more than a muddy morass with a trickle of water running through it). Now the water is really deep and the ducks are happily swimming #KelseyPark
The de-silting project at #KelseyPark #Beckenham continues, floating cranes and dredgers on the lake.
Fenced off area near lake with workmen and equipment.
Fenced off area in field on lefthand side of cafe with equipment, diggers and shed.
Fencing along the path to the playground with digger in position.
Fencing surrounding large mound of earth, cafe in the distance. Sign indicating safe route for pedestrians.
Went to #KelseyPark in #Beckenham yesterday. They're going to de-silt the lake, which will take about 7 mths. Most of the area near the cafe and playground is fenced off, JCBs on site. Cafe and playground can be reached by a longwinded detour around the fencing.
