Photo of a disassembled Hot Wheels Nissan "Kenmeri" Skyline KPGC110 GT-R partway through being converted into a miniature for use in the tabletop wargame Gaslands.

The body of the car is stripped of its original paint & primed white and is at the left-rear of the photo. The "glass" piece has had sections cut out to give the driver & co-driver space to have heads and is slightly in front and to the right of the shell.

Then there is the interior piece, which has been cut back extensively from its original shape to give the car a "stripped" interior and has the bodies of the two crew (sculpted from "Green Stuff" epoxy putty) sitting in it (without heads as yet).

The driver (on the right of the car, as it's Japanese) has a hand on the gear stick and a hand on the steering wheel. The steering wheel is a custom part made from a copper-tube steering column and a brass wire wheel. The co-driver is aiming an assault rifle, also sculpted from green stuff and modelled on a HK G3, out of the window.

Furthest to the right and slightly in front is the undertray, which has the wheels removed (they're sitting slightly behind the interior section) and has the rear left wheel arch cut back and fitted with an arch liner (currently paper, but will eventually be styrene plastic sheet).

Close up shot of the interior from the reverse angle, showing the back of the passenger's assault rifle (which is as detailed as the front) and the assembly of the steering wheel.

This is a photo of the assembled car, showing the way the passenger is aiming their gun out of the window. The passenger is disabled; a double leg amputee, above the knee. Taking part in combat racing is dangerous!

I sometimes wonder if I'm doing too much. Really though, the point is I enjoy doing the stuff and the more stuff I do the more there is to enjoy. Ending up with a finished miniature is just the icing on the cake.

A quick phone snapshot of a shoot I’m very excited about (although it’s proving difficult to edit). Either way, a super rare vehicle to see in America, so it’s always extremely exciting to get a chance to shoot one! #skyline #kenmeri #hakosuka #classicjdm
