Kim Harvey named executive producer of ’CBS Evening News’
(Reuters) -Paramount’s CBS News on Thursday named veteran broadcast and cable news journalist Kim Harvey as top producer of its flagship nightly newscast, "CBS Evening News", making her only the second woman to helm the 77-year-old broadcast.
Harvey, who joined CBS News in 2017, is succeeding Guy Campanile and steps into the executive producer role after recently serving as senior broadcast producer.
A longtime "CBS Evening News" producer, Harvey previously worked at CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, on programs including "The Rachel Maddow Show" and "American Morning".
The move comes shortly after CBS appointed Tanya Simon executive producer of its prime time news magazine, "60 Minutes", replacing Bill Owens, who stepped down citing a lack of editorial independence.
