On Saturday, they were in Ballymena for a workshop with Collaboration for Change 💛
And on Sunday, they took part in the Women of Colour Belfast Pop-Up Market at the Bullitt hotel in town! 💛
A great weekend full of kindness and solidarity!
In October 2022, members of the #KindEconomy living in asylum hotel accommodation compiled evidence of human rights failings they experienced.
The sixth part in a blog series looking at this evidence, focuses on the ways in which living in these hotels impacted on their dignity.

#KindEconomy chefs were out today, catering Social Change Initiative’s event ‘Tackling Hate & Violent Extremism - What Works?’🍴
Thanks to SCI for the opportunity to showcase the skill & talent in the asylum system, and the importance of people with lived experience working together to make change ✊
In late 2022, #KindEconomy activists looked into human rights issues in asylum hotels.
Some of the issues they found in terms of access to education are still very much alive today, including access to ESOL.

Last week, activists & volunteers from across the campaign came together at the beautiful Willow & Lore in the Glens of Antrim.
We ate together, reflected and planned for the year ahead, met some animals, and explored the great outdoors ☀️
Asylum seekers and refugees across Belfast are working hard to create a society that is better for everyone 💛
In the #KindEconomy, skilled and talented people banned from working, are finding ways to use their skills to cook, grow, and build things for their communities.
Today was the fourth and final week at the Tool Library for our #KindEconomy activists, and look what amazing work they have done!! 🤩
Thanks to Craig & Jane’s guidance, they’ve learnt new DIY skills, built their confidence, AND made some shelves and stools to take home 🪚
#KindEconomy activists were back in the @ToolLibBelfast last week, as part of their 4 week course learning how to use a range of tools and gain practical DIY skills!

#KindEconomy activists had their first session with Belfast Tool Library this week.
This group, banned from working while their asylum claim is being processed, are keen to learn.
Over 4 weeks, they will learn gain practical skills & work on a small project. Enjoy!

At the end of March, PPR organisers ran a power mapping session with students & community groups, with PhD candidates from @qubelfastofficial.bsky.social and @durham-university.bsky.social, funded by NINE DTP.
