In early October, #KoralTheKayak and I spent a glorious day on #MijinemungshingLake in #LakeSuperiorProvincialPark. The area is largely #BorealForest, so lots of #conifers glowing in yellow and gold. The drive in was so pretty - like passing thru the sun. The #kayaking season isn't over just yet...
In Sept as part of a 3-week #camping trip thru northern #Quebec and #NorthernOntario, I spent a day with #KoralTheKayak on #LacLaPeche in @gatineaupark.gc.ca. It was a gorgeous lake (and creek) under cloudless #BlueSkies w a ton of #wildlife, inc. 2 deers and 1000s of fish. La Pêche is well named.
Time well spent on Saturday with #KoralTheKayak. Conditions were perfect - not a cloud in the sky - and the #tamarack trees were aglow…
The best way to spend a Friday night in #GreaterSudbury? It starts with a paddle and a boat... For me, it is either #KoralTheKayak or #QuillTheCanoe... Add some soft water and the wild spaces of #NorthernOntario, and you got yourself a pretty good date ❤️ ☀️ 🌲

A perfect Friday night with #KoralTheKayak in #GreaterSudbury. There is so much life along the river after dark... Night paddling creates such special interactions with #nature. #NorthernOntario really shines in the #summer…
With #KoralTheKayak on #SamMartinLake. It was a 💜 day w oodles of #wildlife interactions, including a close encounter w a mama #bear and her 2 cubs. This is a gorgeous lake tucked into the #Boreal forest in #NorthernOntario. I would really like to know who Sam Martin was, and why he got a lake. 🐻🧸
Star reporter @mkkeown.bsky.social took a rip along the #VermilionRiver on Saturday with her boat, #KoralTheKayak. Just look at those reflections!!!
The #VermilionRiver in #GreaterSudbury has many faces... This stretch, between Grassy and Ella Lakes, is verdant and lush. #KoralTheKayak, my buddy Lynn, her #kayak and I took a stroll down the Verm on Sat, at a leisurely pace. At times, I just floated with the current. Like #ForestBathing by kayak.
Some trips, no matter the length, are more memorable than others. I will not soon forget my wee #expedition with #KoralTheKayak down 11 km of the #WhitsonRiver in early May. My buddy and I ventured out for an early-season run, and we both ended up swimming...

Paddle season is upon us... #KoralTheKayak returns for another season of #adventure and exploration thru #NorthernOntario...
#KoralTheKayak and I spent a beautiful Sat afternoon on a creek in the #KillarneyON area. It was filled w photogenic rock formations; the #peepers were singing; and I saw lots of waterfowl. I love watching a river wake from its winter slumber. It felt so good to be back in the proverbial saddle.
Star reporter @mkkeown.bsky.social paddled her beloved #kayak, #KoralTheKayak, along the #WhitsonRiver last wknd. Story to come...
The #WhitsonRiver in #GreaterSudbury under #BlueSkies and warm May temps. That river was definitely an ambitious project, but totally worthwhile. Story to come... Welcome to the 2025 paddling season. #Adventure awaits. #KoralTheKayak #KoralAdventureSeries #NorthernOntario #WaterbodiesOfTheWards
A few pix from my annual #SnowPaddle last Nov on #MahzenazingRiver, near #KillarneyOntario. It was a superb experience. I like to end the season w #KoralTheKayak by doing a snow paddle somewhere in the #GreaterSudbury area. We really lucked out last year. #KoralAdventureSeries #NorthernOntario
My beloved #NorthernOntario in #BlackAndWhite. This is #Canada 🇨🇦 #ElbowsUp
1. With #KoralTheKayak on Tadley Creek in #GreaterSudbury
2. Annual #SnowPaddle on Mahzenazing Creek
3. Heading to New Post Falls on the #AbitibiRiver
4. Driving thru a #wildland fire burn on the way to Mahzabong Lake
What an epic #SnowPaddle on Saturday, in the #KillarneyOntario area. My buddy, her red Necky #kayak, #KoralTheKayak and I headed to #MahzenazingCreek to explore a new area. We were not disappointed. Conditions were ideal and the snow was fresh. It was so gorgeous. What a way to usher in December ❤️❄️🌲
