The cosortium has split into 2 rooms (WP1+2 & WP3+4) to engage in more in-depth conversations, discuss next steps, task division & more.

3 rooms are created and the partners divide into 3 groups, passing through each room.
📍The rooms discuss stakeholder engagement on an international, national and local level respectively.

👥The consortium comes back together to discuss the design and implementation of a participatory stakeholder engagement framework.

One group focuses on the case studies from Portugal, Germany, Sweden & Bulgaria and the other on Finland, Netherlands & Belgium.
Each room has specific questions to dive into, and once answered the groups change rooms.

The region is home to 10,000 ha of agricultural land, 1,838 ha of which is owned by the city of Leipzig.

🇧🇪 Introduced by Marlinde Koopmans (EV ILVO), is the Belgian case study - the Brabantse Wouden region.
🌳The Brabantse Wouden region is a national park with 3 large forests, smaller forests & valleys.

🇳🇱 Moving onto the Netherlands!
Irene Bouwma (WUR) introduces the Delta area of the Netherlands, dominant with cropland (potatoes, beet, wheat) 🌾🥔 & some animal husbandry(dairy, meat, eggs)🥚.

🇧🇬 Bulgaria’s case study, introduced by Yanka Kazakova (STEP) will be taking place in the Plovdiv region, where the agricultural system is predominantly arable land (cereals, rice, vegetables) 🌾 & vineyards 🍇.

🇸🇪Senad Osmanovic (HU) takes us to Sweden and more particularly Kalmar County - a region which includes the second largest island in Sweden.

💡WP2 will integrate the current knowledge on the functions of landscape features & assess the benefits for biodiversity and ecosystem services at farm & wider societal levels.

Irene Bouwma (WUR) introduces WP1: “Status of landscape features in Europe’s agricultural systems”.
🗺️WP1 will set the EU-level baseline on the current geographical extend of landscape features in order to identify the distance from the 10% cover target.
