Watching the Netflix #letby thing.
I hate all of this bullshit theatre with the Lucy #Letby case. Instead of arguing about the evidence - concentrate on what we DO know: the RCN recommended the hospital be downgraded from a specialist neo-natal ward. Why do this if they DIDN'T BELIEVE IT JEOPARDIZED THE CARE OF THE PATIENTS? 🤔
This #c4 show hasn't even touched on the problems - the truly horrific problems - with that ward.
I recommend this v slow & mumbly podcast, which really does get into the weeds. The lack of consultant & experienced nurse coverage, the sewage contamination... and so much more. #Letby
Old Dewi seems to have a massive chip on his shoulder about "elites". He can't think he might be wrong, it's just he's from Wales and therefore everyone thinks he's no good. #letby
"If this was a hospital in Canada, it would be shut down." #Letby

I have never had so many replies as when I talked about #Crypto and #Letby. It’s disturbing how far we have sunk. I’m sure Letby supporters care about justice but there’s bigger problems in the justice system let alone the UK.
Why does no one talk economics intelligently on here about ‘Wealth tax’.
I wish #Letby interest was replicated on #Ukraine. Nurses and medics are dying to protect western democracy and potentially a world war. I have never had so much debate. I can’t really add any more to this subject. The team Innocent vs team Guilty is so much more appealing in today’s society 😢
Yes, mistakes were made but people will still come out with doubts which is in her benefit. Her defence will still be happy & if you are a #Letby defender you should still be happy with both as they both raise ‘reasonable doubt’ although I personally think she is most likely guilty but want retrial
It might be flawed but it was the better documentary to learn about each baby and the arguments from both sides. I learned more from it, if some of what I learned was wrong then that itself is giving even more coverage to #Letby so it’s actually in her interest as defence can use the narrative.
The release of itv documentary meant it was rushed. I trust the BBC enough which has a long history of highlighting miscarriages of justice. #Letby is getting so much more than other potentially innocent people in jail. I’d like to see a retrial to put this to a test, would you accept any outcome?
Yeah it’s pretty stupid way to defend her when they could just be honest which is disturbing but not a smoking gun. There doesn’t appear enough to prosecute for Liverpool. Her defence would want a court case they could win to give #Letby some momentum. There is a non zero chance she is innocent.
I found it rather unclear, that’s why I’d support a independent judge led look. Make sure it’s legitimately a piece of evidence with what statisticians call a p value and a standard deviation value. #Letby
BBC documentary on Lucy #Letby much more balanced than ITV’s. If the Chester data is true then that’s the proof. It would be in everyone’s interest for this to be independently verified by a Judge so any conspiracy theories or disinformation can be put to rest and we can put an end to this.
That's my point, the BBC should have drawn the obvious conclusion that the flaws in the evidence that were not exposed or tested in the original trial means that, in the interest of justice, a retrial should be the fair and reasonable outcome.
Instead, they purposefully muddied the waters.
#Letby
From watching the ITV documentary I would say Lucy #Letby deserves a retrial. She would get one in most democracies as she didn’t get adequate defence let alone all the medical evidence. Having #ME/CFS I know how the medical profession closes ranks and straight up lies to cover it’s arse.
David Davis thought Brexit was a fucking great idea, so his analytical judgement is not something I hold in particularly high regard.

This is the YouTube version of the Redhanded podcast on #Letby evidence. They go baby by baby and look at the expert opinions on causes of death from 19 minutes in, and the evidence of incompetence in that unit is honestly shocking.

I get that any parents related to the possible new Lucy #Letby charges will probably want recognition & justice for their babies, however, is it really a good use of public money to prosecute someone serving 15 whole-life sentences? More than 1 life term seems pointless 🤷♂️

#CPS considering more charges against #LucyLetby. Lucy AKA (Honest Doc, the baby was already dead) #Letby. Is serving 15 life sentences. #Police & CPS are considering further incidents. Because 15 life sentences isn't enough as Lucy is very healthy & may live a long time.

I have always had a serious problem about her conviction. I don't know if she did it or not, but there is no way that enough evidence was presented to demonstrate guilt. #Letby was convicted by emotive instinct rather than by reason.
