I took this pic as a burst of shots and barely caught the tale end of this beautiful orca making his spectacular leap. It was so exciting and magnificent to be able to hear and see the resident killer whales from shore. There were loud boats that passed by over where the whales were. In my opinion all boat traffic should not be allowed to be anywhere near these shores where the SRKW frequent.

Two orca whales surfacing on the waters off Vashon island.

Finally caught #orcas from #Lpod out on Vashon the other day. According to the orca fans who were out, the one in front is L25, the oldest (nearly a century) orca in existence.
