Day 2: Swords / Flowers
#laezelmancerweek #laezelmancerweek2025
Swords / Flowers The group agreed- a short rest was needed to keep them going, they still had several hours of sunlight left. As the companions chose a spot to settle, the two Gith left the group as the usually did. For Vithka, to explore, and for Lae’zel to stay close to the only thing that was familiar. Once she was confident that the others were out of sight, Lae’zel dropped her body onto a fallen tree along the path, her pack and sword falling beside her. She picked up the sword and set it aside , regretting the unceremonious way it hit the ground. She wiped away beads of sweat and breathed heavily through her nose, trying to bring her breathing under control before her kin noticed her struggling. Toril was not as she expected; the gravity was heavy and the air was thick. Activities that wouldn’t have given her pause at K’liir were now laborious, and she hated it.
Lae’zel lifted her head and looked around for Vithka, expecting to see her struggling, but making sure her own struggling wasn’t visible. Lae’zel’s face dropped with bewilderment as she spotted her wading through bushes and tall grass in what appeared to be an attempt to catch some kind of insect or small creature she didn’t recognize. Vithka wasn’t struggling at all as she jumped between clearings and dived into the brush, her head popping up to admire her prey in her hands before letting it frantically fly away. She gave Lae’zel an excited look as if to say “Did you see that?” Lae’zel responded with a frown and a furrowed brow. Childish. Immature. Unbecoming of one of Vlaakith’s warriors. Lae’zel kept her observations to herself as she watched Vithka float through the brush to a small clearing then sitting down in the middle to admire the colorful wildflowers around her.
Lae’zel rested her elbows on her knees and dropped to head to her hands. She was Lae’zel. She would crush this pebble of a planet in her hands. She would conquer it, sword in hand, in Vlakkith’s name. She was stronger, she was ruthless, she was- “‘Zai!” Lae’zel startled and sat up straight, she hadn’t heard Vithka walking up to her. She eyed the flowers in Vithka’s hand with suspicion. Before she could speak, the small tangle of flowers was placed behind her ear. Vithka smiled and flitted away, revealing her braided hair that had been decorated with the same flowers. Lae’zel snatched the flowers from her head, crushing them in the process. She studied the flowers in her hands and scoffed at the damage, admiring how easy they were to destroy. Weak. Just like everything else on this planet- almost everything. Vithka reproached Lae’zel, “It’s about time we meet back up with the others, hm?” she said in their native tongue. Vithka reached down grabbed her sword, her pack, and finally Lae’zel’s pack. She shot Lae’zel a knowing glance before leading the way back to their companions. Lae’zel groaned as she picked up her sword, but accepted the assistance. As she followed her kin, she stared at her intricate braid that was decorated with such weak adornments. Weak, like everything else on this planet- almost everything.
Is this girl really catching butterflies and picking flowers?
Day 2: Swords / Flowers

Steel / Silk “Open.” Vithka’s eyes fluttered open on command. the light from the nearby fire danced on the cold stone walls and cast sharp shadows on the face of her kin seated in front of her. She felt a shiver run down her spine as their eyes met. Lae’zel’s eyes glowed with desire as her gaze pierced through Vithka like hot steel. Vithka attempted to swallow the lump in her throat but was interrupted by another command. “Taste.” A smile grew on her face as she leaned in closer to follow the orders she was given. Vithka’s eyes closed as she felt Lae’zel’s hand grip her jaw, pulling her forward. A fire surged through her body as their lips met and their hands wandered. As each kiss ended Vithka felt herself leaning forward for another, drawn in by her soft lips that reminded her of silk. Lae’zel sat back out of Vithka’s reach and smiled. “Good. Lower.”
Lae’zel had Vithka wrapped around her finger from the start.
I usually don’t write but here’s a little something for Day 1: Steel / Silk
