A half body shot of my OC Lalo, a white Colombian transman with vitiligo. He has brown hair and brown eyes. He is sitting cross-legged against a table behind him. He has a small machine between his legs and a wrench in his right hand. On the table behind him there is a dark blue tapestry with a light blue and orange fringe along the bottom edge. The tapestry is set up like an awning over the table. A purple, partially skeletal armadillo relaxes on the table. The armadillo is missing pieces of its shell, revealing the ribcage underneath, as well as the skin on its legs, showing the bones. The bones and what remains of the skin is a lighter purple, compared to the darker purple of what remains of the shell. The armadillo has thick patches of vegetation on the front part of the torso shell, on the back part of the torso shell, and on the shell near its snout. Small purple flowers sprout from the patches of vegetation on the armadillo. Lalo pets the armadillo with his left hand. The armadillo has its eyes closed, seemingly enjoying the pets. Lalo seems to be in a shaded, grassy area, as dappled sunlight falls on him and the grass below him.

A color illustration of a purple, partially skeletal armadillo. The purple color is deeper on the shelled portions (on top of the head and on the torso) as opposed to the lower head fluff, ears, and the revealed bones, which are a lighter purple. The armadillo has dark green pupils. The armadillo is missing skin around large portions of its chest as well as its legs. It is also missing part of the shell on the torso. The ribcage under the shell is particularly noticeable. Small patches of vegetation have begun growing all over the armadillo, with small sprouts of leaves. There is a light gray silhouette indicating grass behind the armadillo, as well as a somewhat darker shadow under the armadillo, being cast by the armadillo itself.

A black and white half body drawing of two characters, Nieves and Lalo.

Nieves is short and Afro-Colombian. She has long, very curly, black hair. She has a big smile and stars in her eyes. She wears a long coat and two pairs of glasses. One pair of glasses is on top of her head. This pair of glasses has a cloud shape for one lens and a half moon shape for the other lens. On top of her nose, Nieves wears the second pair of glasses.

Lalo is tall and dark-haired. He is a white Colombian. He has vitiligo. He wears a tank top and glasses. He has a confused, worried expression as he looks at Nieves.

Lalo's speech bubbles are on the left, as he is, and similarly, Nieves' speech bubbles are on the right, as she is.

The first speech bubble is the largest. It's from Nieves, "Why do people have such depressing funerals? When I die, I want my ashes mixed with confetti and carmalized sugar candy and during the wake the lights go out and it's like a sudden goth dance party, all hora loca style and there's like multicolored LASERS EVERYWHERE in the middle of the darkness and I want everyone to put on these skelly costumes as 'Suavemente' by Elvis Crespo just BLASTS over the speakers and THEN just before the lights come back on, small cannons operated by magic hummingbirds launch my ashes-confetti-candy into the air. I just think it'd be neat."

The next speech square is from Lalo, "What the fuck"

"YEAH! Celia, what'd you call it?"

The following speech square points off screen. It is Celia, not pictured, but listening to the conversation. Celia's speech bubble, "Embracing chaotic joy in the liminal space between life and death."

"EXACTLY! It'd be beautiful." The word beautiful is written in cursive letters.

The next speech bubble is from Lalo, "OR TRAUMATIC"

Nieves' final speech bubble says, "Things can be traumatic AND beautiful!"

Lalo's final speech bubble reads, "Every day I pray I die before you and this is one of the many reasons why."

A black and white half body sketch. Celia sits somewhere and rests her elbows on a surface. She wears her white shirt and has her hair in an afro. She shrugs upon hearing her friends discuss something outlandish. The word "shrug" is written between asterisks, next to Celia's shoulders. She's used to their nonsense.

One of my absolute favorite character interaction commissions! Thank you so much @carterrdraws.bsky.social !!

A color group illustration of five: Lalo, Lisandro, Nora, Yandiel, and Saúl. There is a rainbow in the colors of the trans pride flag above them. The background is pink with lines in the shape of celebratory stars, and confetti falls down on the characters.

Lalo is the first left-hand character. He has short, straight, and brown hair, brown eyes, white skin with vitiligo, and a lanky body. He's wearing rectangular wire glasses, a light green tank top, and blue-gray pants.

The first right-hand character Lisandro. Because of the lighting, Lisandro's hair seems brown, but it is black. He has long, wavy hair in a ponytail and a muscular body. He wears a shirt with pink and white vertical stripes, and blue suspenders. His shirt has long sleeves, with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows.

Below Lalo is Yandiel. He is wearing a long, yellow-orange dress with geometric patterns and gold trim along the hem and waist. Her hair is black and Afro-textured; her hairstyle has shaved sides and curly hair on top. She has brown eyes, black hair, and brown skin. They wear gold hoop earrings.

Below Lisandro is Nora Ester. They have short, straight, and black hair, with a tuft of hair in their bangs dyed red, and blue eyes. They're wearing a light blue headband, a pastel yellow jacket clipped around their collar with a red amulet and drapped over their shoulders like a cape, a long-sleeved purple shirt, gray pants, and lace-up blue boots.

The fifth character overall, in the middle and closest to the viewer, is Saúl. Only his torso is visible. Saúl has brown skin and black, Afro-textured hair, which he wears in locs with gold looplets interspersed throughout. His eyes are yellow, with a thin pupil similar to a snake. She has a blue ruana with gold and green geometric designs, and under that, a yellow shirt with an open collar. He also wears two rows of a red, beaded necklace.

Like Lisandro, both Saúl and Yandiel appear to have brown hair, but only because of the lighting.
