The fundamental problem with #LawAndOrderBinge2024- I mean okay there were a lot of fundamental problems but the most pressing one to me RIGHT NOW is that I cannot accept any excuses for not being familiar with characters' canonical history.

Look I know what "Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent" is because I tried to see if it was acquire-able for #LawAndOrderBinge2024 (it was not from any of the sources I checked) but in my HEART the CW having a L&O series means "high school AU" and I refuse to give that up.

from Entertainment Weekly [ https://ew.com/power-rangers-star-details-shocking-on-set-conditions-11708903 ]: "Some version of Power Rangers has been consistently on air since then, across five networks, spanning nearly 1,000 episodes, and featuring three dozen actors playing the core team of rangers. Last month, Disney+ announced they've taken the TV franchise over from Netflix and will produce a 31st season of the series."

#AvengersDoomsday This is the first big Marvel reveal of stuff since I started #LawAndOrderBinge2024 and I keep being like "is Alex Cabot coming back? Barba? Connie Rubirosa?" which I'd like to say is because multiverse but is in fact just because of who I am as a person.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Sometimes you've just gotta read McCoy/Kincaid fic at 1 AM and wallow.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 In my defense, nothing hit this hard on my first watch, but I probably should have guessed going back just to have Excessive Feelings About Stuff might have excessive feelings as a natural consequence.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Peacock is sitting there like "Excuse me, ma'am, Ghost and Lead are both paused at exactly the moment you said you wanted to see, is there a reason you have decided to be Like This?"

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 I still haven't finished watching the three major Alex episodes I chose like a week ago because I keep being like "I cannot retain information until I'm calm and normal about this" and I am literally never calm or normal about anything.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Every time I facetiously say the penalty for something should be death I imagine Claire Kincaid looking at me, disappointed.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Like I think that a district attorney is just a person whose (attempted) murder should be treated like anyone else's, but I do think the punishment for shooting Alex Cabot and making all the other main characters (and also me) sad should be death.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 I'm fascinated in the rhetorical sleight of hand, where because the audience is invested in the show's protagonists, we do agree anyone who hurts them should be penalized, which is not the same as "shooting cops/ADAs should get harsher penalties" but is absolutely conflated.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 I went back to clarify continuity and it turns out Alex Cabot doesn't show up in "Ghost" until 29 minutes into the 43 minute run time, and it's not like she's in every scene after that. What is even happening!

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Rewatching episodes and being like "oh I see I retained entirely inaccurate recollections of this"

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 is it good that I can now say things make no sense authoritatively?

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 But the important thing is that I now feel like I can have a reasonable normal conversation about the Laws and/or Orders.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Unless I include Deadline I guess. I'm still undecided on that.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 So I've now officially watched all 1,361 episodes from before the current seasons.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 "Jack McCoy is gone, and I'm sorry if that distorted your sense of stability and security, but let me be as transparent as I possibly can. I am not trying to be the next Jack McCoy. I don't want to be the next Jack McCoy." Bro we know >:(

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 I keep having thoughts and then trying to remind myself of how a normal person would watch this show.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Milena Govich is a really solid director. I'm glad she was able to get something from this franchise after they consistently fucked over her characters.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Fuuuuck Camryn Manheim can act.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 "We're police. We don't get to pick and choose who the law applies to." THAT'S LITERALLY YOUR JOB. THAT'S ALL YOU DO.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Dixon is a really interesting character and I hate how much the show was like "nah"

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 The repetition of names through this franchise is so deeply confusing to me.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 It's so infuriating how Camryn Manheim's fluency in ASL is finally becoming useful in the narrative and yet I know she's three episodes from leaving entirely.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 This show is just impressively abysmal at race. Like in many ways, somehow worse in the 2020s than it was in the 90s.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 The war criminal is being better on race than Hugh Dancy is.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 AU where Alex is the DA who replaces Jack McCoy and L&O The New Class is enjoyable to watch and also when Olivia fights with the DA in SVU s26 it's suddenly a LOT more interesting

2 0 0 0

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 It is extremely funny to me that L&O wanted to make the mayor of NYC a morally-compromised asshole and they still couldn't get anywhere near the levels Eric Adams effortlessly achieves.

#LawAndOrderBinge2024 Or they could just let Vigilante Alex use her considerable political skills to take over the DA's office despite spending all her time doing extralegal advocacy. That would be great.
