A screenshot from Stardew Valley mobile (so no mods), showing a secret basement room accessible only by placing a staircase in Mayor Lewis’ bedroom.
The room is dark, with a single, unclear source of dim light only at the entrance, a wooden ladder against the wall in the upper left corner. To the left of the ladder, on the wall, is a shelf with a few glass jars with lids.
Taking up the rest of the room except for the lower right corner is a huge maze made of barrels, crates, and boxes, which cannot be interacted with by the player except to wind through the maze they create.
Across the very bottom (closest to the end of the maze) row of barrels and effluvia are scattered the only things in the room with any personality, barely visible in the darkness: on top of one barrel is a wooden toy ship; 2 more barrels to the right, and there’s the “Teddy Timer”, a teddy bear-shaped grandmother clock.
In the lower right corner, at the end of the maze, my OC is standing a mini-room created by a border of barrels and boxes, illuminating the area with my character’s glow ring effects:
A darkened desktop computer, slightly hidden behind a barrel, sits on the stone floor, facing a box with a barely-visible, small “futan bear” plushie on top. Nothing else but a wooden stool and a metal burn barrel stand beside it, and a little further to the right, a discarded pair of the Mayor’s purple polka dot boxer underwear.

(The boxers are the only thing in the room with which the player can interact; if you grab them, you can take them, but another pair of boxers, this pair flying and indestructible, will begin to attack you until you either race out of the maze, teleport home, or their attacks knock you unconscious.)

Does anybody else find it *deeply* creepy that, at the end of the pitch-dark secret maze in Mayor Lewis’ basement, there’s a computer, a little bear plushie, a metal burn barrel, and a discarded pair of his underwear? 👀😬😭
