Lhaya has lots of faults that at least sometimes make it hard for her loved ones to be patient with/love her.

Only a few know/suspect what a ticking time bomb Lhaya actually is if she doesn’t get her magic under control. It‘s one of the reasons why she didn’t get along with Papalymo and has a strained relationship with Y‘shtola (and the fault lies with Lhaya, actually, who’s stubborn)

Lhaya was mostly busy with recovering from almost dying dealing with amnesia (sudden awakening of her magical powers and Azem connection will do that to you).
Once her wounds had healed she helped wherever she could in the small village she lived in back then. She had some basic ⬇️

Reds, black, white and any shades in between
There’s not much of a story behind it, I associate red with Blackmage/ Redmage and her generally warm personality. The blacks and whites I have for contrast and because they remind me of the starry nightsky.

Lhaya has very wild and bizarre dreams, especially when she has to process recently happened events.
They can be funny dreams, but the more serious/devastating the events she had to witness were, the higher the chance of her dreams turning into nightmares.
That’s also a reason why ⬇️
Lhaya tends to talk down on her own intelligence, insulting herself. None of her ships like that. Because it’s not true (but it can feel like it if you’re always surrounded by Eorzean PhD people), but they also know it’s her preferred way of avoiding difficult topics or situations. ⬇️

They threw her into a cell after and her public execution was already scheduled when she managed to escape Ul’Dah with the help of a refugee girl she had helped a few days prior.

Boredom. For Lhaya it was mainly boredom and being fed up with where she grew up (Gridania).
That said, she didn’t start adventuring immediately, she ran away from home without much of a plan the first time.
The second time years later she was sent to the Blackmage‘s guild after her ⬇️

Lhaya always wanted a big family someday, but only had a vague idea of how that family could look.
It could have also just been a family of friends like she found with the Scions. She always made sure no accidents happened with her flings - then MSQ happened, putting her priorities ⬇️

After I decided to make Lhaya Lhys‘ little sister I wanted to basically create an OC with a contrasting look, and one that had a subtle kind of special beauty. That’s why she has almost black hair und light grey eyes in combination with the light freckles. In the beginning I played MSQ⬇️
As a kid Lhaya wanted to follow her father to wherever he went via Aetheryte travelling and snuck near the Gridanian crystal during a moment when no one was watching.
She managed to attune but landed in the “realm between” where the Ascians reside instead.

Between EW and the EW Patches.
Lots of downtime without any immediate threat (at the very least 6 months if not longer), so Lhaya had the time and freedom to fuck off to her new island with her respective ships (in all ship routes except Sid‘s), and could just live and enjoy life.

This is actually one of the bad endings for Lhaya during Lhys‘ WoL story.
Emotions are so ingrained in her whole personality, so she would have very likely turned. She would have tried to help and protect people but eventually the onslaught of despair would’ve been too much for her.

Lhaya loves to assist in any way for styling hair, putting clothes/makeup on or for whatever else, she also loves if a loved one does it for her or helps her with it. But as usual it mainly depends on her partner and their comfort level. So it actually varies from ship to ship ⬇️

During her childhood and teens Lhaya dreamed up her own idealised version of Ishgard and having this version shattered and replaced by reality made her grow up in a lot of ways.
The tricky part from SB to EW was to put theory into practice.

Lhaya fought him & made sure he’s dead/staying dead, although I refuse to think about the details.
Losing control like that after a lot of time, tears and energy went into preventing exactly this outcome made her run away again [and that’s when she picks up and starts Dark Knight].

Not sure what was up with this cutscene but that’s almost exactly how I imagine Lhaya’s hair in terms of colors. Never before did it look like this in cutscenes.
Maybe a bit darker/more black but the blue hue is perfect 👌 My pretty girl 😍

Idalya and Lhaya:
Lhaya would show her her favorite places on the star & Idalya would tell her how they were back in Ancient times, and how/if the changed. They’d prank some people on their way and you‘d always be able to locate them by the sound of their loud voices and laughter. 1/2

I changed up the Wayfarer‘s Necklace lore and made it the one accessory Lhaya wears almost all the time.
In the non Haurchefant ship route it’s just a „part“ of him she always wants to have near her. It’s her way to show him the world and have him go on adventures with her.

Lhaya is not dumb but has her problems with traditional studying methods. She always needs a personal motivation first, to sit down and learn via tutoring or reading. And she definitely needs longer than the average person because she doesn’t have much patience for it/doesn’t enjoy it.

As an extrovert Lhaya feels most comfortable in between a group of people, no matter if it’s 3 or 300, if it’s a casual occasion. She doesn’t have to be the center of attention to enjoy her time, soaking up the vibes while people are talking/socialising/having fun is enough.

For the longest time it was either her dad or Lhys for Lhaya. After DT she‘s now at a place where she’s trying to fix fuckups/mistakes by herself as much as she can. She knows she can rely on her support system of people if needed but the time when she ran from responsibilities is over.

Lhaya and Lhys never learned to swim when they grew up. Both got taught by the Scions/Friends at some point in MSQ but I haven’t decided yet when exactly.
Lhaya enjoys being in shallow water and splashing around, but not necessarily swimming (sports, yikes!).
