Thai Court Sentences Suspect to Life for Killing Former Cambodian Opposition MP Lim Kim Ya The Criminal Court has sentenced Ekkalak “Sergeant Em” Paenoi to life imprisonment for the premeditated murder of Lim Kim Ya, a 74-year-old Cambodian national and former opposition MP of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP). The court also ordered him to pay 1.79 million baht in compensation. The death sentence was initially imposed but later reduced to life imprisonment due to his confession.

The Criminal Court in Thailand has sentenced a suspect to life imprisonment for the premeditated murder of Lim Kim Ya, a former Cambodian opposition MP, and ordered him to pay compensation to the victim’s family.
