Book Review: “This Is Not A Test” by Courtney Summers Sometimes I get lucky and find the hidden ARCs at a book festival. That's exactly how I ended up with a copy of This Is Not A Test by Courtney Summers. Her publicist left a copy of it for someone to find at YALLFest 2025 and I snagged it. Mwuahahaha. This Is Not A Test is a repackage of the book that was released more than a decade ago.

Book Review: “The House Saphir” by Marissa Meyer Marissa Meyer is back on her retelling old stories vibe. This time, she's giving Bluebeard a romantasy twist in The House Saphir . Our main character, Mallory, can see ghosts and has found a way to monitize it. She gives tours of a home where Count Bastien Saphir killed his first wife, with a little help from her ghost. When Bastien's great-great grandson shows up, he could out her for some fraudulent behaviors, but instead, he offers her and her sister a job.

Book Review: “For One Night Only” by Jessica James As a delulu and slightly feral K-pop fan, I natually love a good celebrity romance novel. While that interest leans more fan-musician for obvious reasons, I still won't hesitate if the story involves two celebrities. That's what led to picking up For One Night Only by Jessica James. . Valerie was the lead singer of a band called GlitterBats back in the day, but they broke up several years ago.

Book Review: “Ace Marvel Spy” by Jenni L. Walsh Sometimes, I get a book pitch that sounds like it's absolutely perfect for me. Sports, comics, and World War II historical fiction based on a real woman? Sign me up immediately. Ace Marvel Spy by Jenni L. Walsh is a novel about Alice Marble, who I hadn't heard of before. Most of this book is told in a dual timeline, with one walking us through Alice's early days learning how to play tennis and growing into herself in the sport, while the other follows her life in the early days of World War II.
