One terrace at Wapping Pier Head viewed from across the former entrance channel to London Docks. Oliver's Wharf is behind, on the right.
It is hard to believe that behind these railings passed merchant ships from all over the world, on their way into London Docks carrying wool, tobacco, brandy, wine and rice, fruit, spices, sugar, coffee, cocoa and nuts.

Visible from the Pier Head is Scandrett Street, with more Georgian houses, the church of St John and the old school with statues of a boy and a girl above the entrance.
