I felt sorry for the Dutch Sailors last night, badly trained and equipped, they fought bravely but were no match against the drilled and aggressive Swedish Infantry. #Lund1676 #Scanianwar
Outside Lund the Danish Artillery is Starting to pound the Swedish advance, ”For Wales is heard amongst the Swedish ranks as their comrades are being ripped apart!”. #Lund1676 #scanianwar
Next Saturday at Virtual Joy of Six I present Lund 1676 in some more detail, but a little taster! Happy it is done! I hope you have a look at this and many of the other 6mm offerings on the day - I wanted to Lund on a dining table - well here on mine! #Lund1676 #Scanianwar 1/2
The Swedish Management Team at Lund 1676, King Charles XI, Field Marshal Simon Grundel-Helmfelt, General (of Cavalry) Rutger von Ascheberg and General Quarter-master Erik Dahlberg. #Scanianwar #Lund1676
Ok, apart from the bridges I have completed the #Lund1676 mat with, underhills to create elevation, bare trees to add to the miserability of it all and some greytone real estate! This is for Virtual Joy of Six in 2 weeks time, Sunday 4th July. #Scanianwar #Joyofsix2021 1/2 …
The three villages for #Lund1676 done. There is always a panic with a project and for this one it is the 8 bridges needed, I only had one spare - Ordered and hopefully enough time to hit the deadline in a week for completion #Scanianwar
Have Ordered stuff for the Villages on the Lund 1676 mat but mail is really slow at the moment so have taken some old stuff into use! - to be able to press on! Some of them served on the 2012 Fraustadt board, and some newer stuff! #Lund1676 #Scanianwar
Tree bases done for #Lund1676. Over the weekend I will do the three Villages. Finally “tune” it all with the underhills and we will be ready to go! #Scanianwar
You have to use a little bit of imagination for now. May include some pine trees but wanted to go for bare trees. Will paint them a little bit and add snow! #Lund1676 #Scanianwar
Ok time to elevate this a little bit #Lund1676 #Scanianwar Difficult to see om my picture, but it looks ok. Some creases are inevitable, but so far it is all in the mat, No loose roads, rivers or hills! The blue is a few layers of foam for underfloor heating, 6mm thick of course!
The Main Battle at Lund 1676 happened here! #Lund1676 #Scanianwar
Detail to the roads! #scanianwar #lund1676
Nice and dry. Almost done, just need to add details to roads, some snow flock here and there, then it is time to do the loose items, bridges a few buildings, trees, etc. #scanianwar #lund1676 But that probably has to wait to the weekend!
Then Mod Podge (gloss) on the water! Why? It is flexible when dry, remember we need to roll up our mat when not using it. It does not self level so you may need to adjust it a little to get the finish you want. Always Practice before you commit fully! #Lund1676 #Scanianwar
First winterization phase, drybrush light white on lower elevation, roads and rivers, heavy drybrush on higher elevation! Getting there #scanianwar #lund1676
Next the rivers get some grey, #lund1676 #Scanianwar Lovely Weather outside and I will probably wrap all these up in blog post anyway - go a catch some D vitamin!
Next step some yellowish tone to the lower areas and the edges of rivers, road and elevation (this will be a winter board) of the #Lund1676 battlefield! #Scanianwar Light/medium drybrush- we still want the Dark Brown to dominate. Do not worry about being overly neat!
Ok all the acrylic stuff put on the mat for Lund 1676! Tried to get some elevation changes, rivers and roads, etc. Now the drying! #Lund1676 #Scanianwar
'Ere we go again. A mat for another battle. This time a small one, 7 by 3 ft, Lund 1676 on your dining table in 6mm. First round sketch to be able to transpose onto the canvas (blow up the cropped picture). #Scanianwar #Lund1676 Miniatures painted already...
I love that stage of painting 6mm when the faces gets some paint, and they start looking back at you! #lund1676 WIP
