Appearance of Grace. The quick rebirth of the dragon Awakens heartache and bliss When fire subsides to ashes It’s the heat we all miss And all the scars that my skin wears Those ones that shimmered in gold Now are wounds of my mem’ry Now are what make me so old Another sign in the coffee Another year of the cat Another time of cacophony Another claim it’s just that Another line here for progress To make us all feel so proud But the words that most matter Are never spoken aloud The fault it lies with the wicked Compassion misunderstood Those who put blame on their own hearts Are often those who are good When the clock strikes at midnight And takes the mask off your face There’ll be confusion no more, here It’s the appearance of grace
