#MAAMovingObjects is now open! 📦

This new exhibition highlights stories about the objects we care for, shared by those who have worked with them.

From a grumpy looking pot to a porcupine quill covered masquerade costume, these are objects that moved us. We invite you to be moved by them too.

Some of the objects you will see on display in our new exhibition #MAAMovingObjects are incredibly fragile. So CeeCee, our Durham University Conservation student needs to make sure they are held in place securely in a way that doesn't cause further damage. 1/2

Everyone is hard at work ahead of the opening of our new exhibition #MAAMovingObjects on 28/03/2026. Conservation student CeeCee has been helping install many of the objects you'll see on display, including an incredibly fragile hanging bowl. We think you'll agree she's done a brilliant job!
