Last week, I had the opportunity to attend my first international conference, MARE,at the University of Amsterdam!I had an incredible time attending lots of insightful talks as well as getting the opportunity to pitch the first chapter of my PhD, and presenting a poster about my research! #Mare2025

Last week, we took part in #MARE2025, an inspiring week that brought together the marine social science community 🌐👥

It was great connecting with so many early-career scientists through our different activities 💡

Diverse and provocative day at #MARE2025 with keynotes on MSP2.0 and on why #MarSocSci should study big corporations active in the seafood market, and sessions on using AI in social sciences and on why small-scale is not always beautiful. And of course the traditional dinner in the Dominicus Church!

Great first day of #MARE2025. The keynote by Sarah Coulthard about Challenges and opportunities in the visibility of UK inshore and small-scale #fisheries (and associated benefits), ressonated throughout many sessions during the day - even those not explicitly on fisheries. #MarSocSci

And we have lift off! The #MARE2025 conference in Amsterdam is now now live. We have 44 participants from 51 countries. Organised by @marecentre.bsky.social this biennal #MarSocSci conference always feels like a family gathering.
