Yes there are similarities. I somehow enjoyed this version more than the kdrama #MarryMyHusband. I think the #jdrama is hard to compare to both of them. I liked all 3 but I had the most fun watching this you are watching right now...

Honorable mention to #MarryMyHusband. One of the things I learned by watching the Japanese & Korean versions back-to-back is that, while I prefer the emotional journey of the Japanese FL, Korean costuming is WAY better. I loved her entrance in this dress. #EYDC2025

I don’t usually watch jdramas. I watched both this year so I could compare the Korean & Japanese versions. It made me think about what makes a kdrama a Kdrama.

Day 21: A drama that surprised you. #EYDC2025 For me, it’s the #jdrama version of #MarryMyHusband. The original was fun and OTT but also sort of dumb, so I had very low expectations. But MMHJ was surprisingly thoughtful in its approach to the same premise and I really enjoyed it.

Day 22: A Drama that Deserves the Hype

I am going to go with the #jdrama version of #MarryMyHusband. I enjoyed this drama SO MUCH! In my opinion it was a lot better than the Kdrama version in so many ways. If you have not taken the time to watch this, PLEASE DO! You won’t be disappointed.

This still goes to romance, however the diversity of genres has expanded this year. My other top categories would probably include Revenge and Fake Marriages, notably #PerfectMarriageRevenge, #WouldYouMarryMe and #MarryMyHusband.

Honorable mention: Satoh Takeru as the ML in the #jdrama version of #MarryMyHusband. He took a character who is mostly a blank slate for the FL to write her desires on to and turned him into a real person, no small task, IMO. It doesn’t hurt that he’s so easy on the eyes either. 💕
