Latest ‘Maul: Shadow Lord’ Promo Teases a Big Cameo The _Maul: Shadow Lord_ hype train is running on all cylinders. The latest promo is a high-octane, action-packed teaser incorporating some new scenes and original dialogue from the highly anticipated show. The spot also includes a very interesting scene midway through. The clip opens with a montage of images showcasing some of the chaos surrounding the Empire’s rule. Maul states, “In these times…I prefer to keep my presence a shadow.” His words serve as a reminder of where we find him during the post-Clone Wars era. He’s a mysterious rogue living in the farthest corners of the galaxy and completely off the Empire’s radar…at least for the moment. The most intriguing shot comes next which teases a huge cameo. We see Marrok, the Inquisitor first introduced in _Ahsoka_ , bowing before the blue glow of a hologram. “My Lord…Maul lives.” Are we seeing the moment the Emperor learns that his exiled apprentice is still alive? It’s hard to tell for certain if the hologram is actually Sidious, but it seems to make the most sense. The last time we saw Sidious and Maul together in the Clone Wars series, he said he wasn’t going to kill Maul…he had “other uses” for him. What we don’t know yet is if Sidious thinks Maul is dead at this point in the timeline. Hopefully _Maul: Shadow Lord_ will fill in some of those missing pieces. What’s interesting is, if Marrok isn’t talking to Sidious, who is he delivering the news to? Could it be Vader? That’s possible given Vader’s relationship with the Inquisitors. I still believe Sidious is the most logical choice and I feel that his presence in the show would be essential. The rest of the promo shows some incredible action sequences from Maul slashing through an AT-ST to him dueling Marrok and the Eleventh Brother with all the double-sabered goodness one could hope for.
