Daytime scene on a pleasant afternoon on a sidewalk in an often ironic City, facing the familiar green, plywood construction wall with a bright yellow safety lamp and electric conduit pipe for the safety lamp; the lot has been demolished a long time and the developers are probably anxious to build their luxury condos that no one can afford and that no one asked for; the plywood safety wall is mostly covered by big, pasted advertising posters and other posters such as the largest on the wall - a bold, red poster which reads "Boycott the Bezos Met Gala" - referring to a rich, oligarchic billionaire who uses his wealth for some terrible things; he is on the board of The Met, which gets a lot of its fundraising from their annual Gala that is a very big event in the fashion world; YouTube icon, model, and entrepreneur Emma Chamberlain normally does the hosting on behalf of Vogue magazine and, ironically, she now appears on a series of four large West Elm advertising posters on this construction wall; we almost purchased a couch there a few years ago; there is also more advertising (as there is all over town) for a music concert for disciples of a late spiritual leader, as well as a tiny warning flyer about this being a poison-baited area - which is what it is, but the barren lot is not appealing to rats; at either side of this construction wall (about sixty feet long) are old, historic tenement-style buildings which are bravely standing against wealth and greed by preventing the luxury towers from being built; off in the distance, bigger buildings stand tall against a blue sky marbled with white clouds.
