Our #MPI_BioDiversum #ThenAndNow (4/4) – entering our grounds there is a wildflower meadow on the left. Hardly any animal felt comfortable in the short lawn. Today, you can observe a lively hustle and bustle of insects🐝. They use the plants for food and as a breeding refuge.

Our #MPI_BioDiversum #ThenAndNow (3/4) – the pond. A tenant farmer previously used the meadow as a horse pasture. Today, a large pond forms the heart of our #biotope. It provides spawning grounds for amphibians and dragonflies, habitat for small animals, and a drinking source💧.

Our #MPI_BioDiversum #ThenAndNow (2/4) – the wildflower meadows. Before, the lawn was mowed regularly. Today, they are home to many different plants that have sprung from regional meadow seeds🌼. An environmentally friendly beam mower cuts it only once or twice a year. #biotope
