just want to note that all the headline writers that are putting Lexington's operational budget cuts in the same headline as their new high school are really just demonstrating that they haven't the faintest notion of how budgets work #MAEdu
Always depressing to hear that the two main issues your state education committee are focusing on are ones they ought to be staying out of #MAEdu
Not only is this not good; it also again underlines how few in #MAEdu know what the constitutional mandate for education is.
Don’t miss Henry Wan, though. In the many years I have been at Board meetings, I haven’t ever witnessed someone breaking out in song. #MAEdu
sounds like yesterday's Ways and Means hearing was an exercise in frustration for anyone who actually does understand the state's education formula, so I am glad I didn't go.

#Winchendon & many #Rural School Districts across #Massachusetts face declining enrollment & less funding from State. Need my #EduWarriors help now more than ever, bcuz cuts every year are unsustainable. Please share!

depressing to hear the chair of the #MAEdu Board of Ed dismiss all responsibility for Chapter 70
They have the responsibility of ensuring sufficiency such that the state standards are met. They should advocate if that is not the case, as I would say it is not.
#MAEdu DESE is still taking comments on the proposed new 603 CMR 57.00 regulations, which would, while creating strict standards for translators and interpreters, allow for LLM use for translation for families by Massachusetts school districts, so long as it is checked by a person.
Yes, you can change meeting locations, even from in person to remote, if you share as much as you can as early as you can.

I understand it's "news" but I am laughing at all these Massachusetts papers running "when is the last day of school?" articles.
It's March 9. We don't know yet. Have you met March in Massachusetts? #MAedu
sorry, took another day: who-cester.blogspot.com/2026/03/on-t...

We're at one of the coziest elementary schools in the state on this chilly, rainy day.

if what the state is calling "machine translation" (even if reviewed) is a cause for concern for you, #Massachusetts, if being used for documentation for students and their families, you will want to offer comment on proposed new regulation 603 CMR 57, specifically .5 (3)
