A riveting portrait of modern celebrity, Magnus von Horn’s Sweat strips away the digital veneer to reveal the human cost of influencer culture. Astonishingly embodied by Magdalena Koleśnik in a tenacious performance, this compassionate tale of self-discovery pulses with the energy of a thriller.

Magnus Von Horn’s debut feature, The Here After, had its world premiere in the Directors’ Fortnight section at Cannes last year. The film tells the story of John who returns home after serving time in prison for the murder of his ex-girlfriend. John returns to his hometown with hopes of leaving the past behind and starting a new life but the local community continues to punish him. A fine example of European cinema, the film is an impressive character study analyzing John’s struggle to fit in.

Magnus von Horn, is a Swedish-Polish film director and screenwriter. He graduated from the National Film School in Łódź in 2013. A few months after he arrived in Poland he was brutally robbed, which resulted in him becoming interested in violent people.
