This work belongs to an ongoing series examining the distance between institutional power and public presence. Using exaggerated architectural perspective and deliberate emptiness, the artist depicts authority continuing to perform even as its audience disappears. The figures positioned outside the formal seat of power are not caricatures but observers, representing citizens who remain attentive yet disconnected. The image avoids satire in favor of quiet dissonance. Meaning is located not in the speech itself, but in the question it provokes. The composition directs attention away from ceremony and toward uncertainty, asking who remains addressed when civic language persists without civic consent. We the People are the government. 35 million Americans didn’t vote. 70% of ballots cast with no opposition candidate. #Trump has turned our government into a TV game/reality show. Most are happy sit at home watching TV and rooting for home team. It don’t matter who’s side your on. There’s a shortage of players.
