NG MERS 999, continuation of the MERS 999 system – Fahmi Fadzil
KUALA LUMPUR: The Next Generation Malaysian Emergency Response Services 999 (NG MERS999) system is a continuation of the MERS999 system which has been operating since 2007 and is not a new project, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. He said the latest contract implemented by Telekom Malaysia (TM) involved the renewal of obsolete equipment and software, including old systems that were still operating using platforms such as Windows XP. “A lot of equipment and software has reached its expiry date.
