I'm always sad on the last day of #MapleLeafMarch. I want to cram in as much music as I can.
I couldn't let March end without Fionn. They're a great Vancouver band led by twin sisters.
...but I can prove they belong together in #MapleLeafMarch as I discuss what Triples used to be.
And yes. Those three posts about PACKS and Triples are remarkably similar.
#WickedGP was late to the party today, but nothing can stop #MapleLeafMarch. We just wish we were giving Laurence Nerbonne more time today!

As a bonus, I extended #MapleLeafMarch to my more occasional #TotallyCovered and brought you a trilingual cover of a (Quebec native) Leonard Cohen classic by three Quebec artists.
BEYRIES got the English part.
#WickedGP rolls through #MapleLeafMarch with a geography lesson courtesy of The Tragically Hip
@sophiep0wers.bsky.social has a very proud mom. We roll through #MapleLeafMarch with motherly pride.
But also, Rheostatics's 2025 album The Great Lakes Suite was incredible and a wonderful embodiment of all that is #MapleLeafMarch
We roll through #MapleLeafMarch on #WickedGP with @thebeaches.bsky.social.
Also, we have video from @dawndontcare.bsky.social here.
I start writing #MapleLeafMarch in December. Seriously.
This was the FIRST post I wrote for this year, and I have been waiting months to talk about Saya Gray!
Seriously, she's a talent and should not be ignored.
I post a lot of Cœur de Pirate, and today's #MapleLeafMarch post is the latest in that. But also, it's my 1,999th post.
So, here, I am telling the story backwards, because it's better this way. It's a great #MapleLeafMarch story.
My favorite album of 2025 was Journal d'un Loup-Garou, by @louadriyo.bsky.social . Just amazing.
This song, from that album and about a great friend of hers, features THAT GREAT FRIEND
Also, every March, I do all Canadian music. #MapleLeafMarch.
A peek inside my process - I scheduled most of the posts for March already. I still have some to write. I was finishing several last night and accidentally published one TODAY. So, yeah, guess we're starting early.
I'm doing an #AmericanAutumn on #WickedGP, not because I am tired of getting crap about being from the United States and doing #MapleLeafMarch, because I felt there was a lot of great American music to highlight.
I start in order with Hawaii. I will hit EVERY state and territory.
Here's a peek into my process.
This was the first post I wrote for this #MapleLeafMarch and I wrote it about four months ago, when I first posted about her.
Now, actually, this is a side project for Lights, an artist I have posted about a LOT!
..... which made me think it was time for me to give this classic summer song by a Canadian band a second treatment, this time in the #MapleLeafMarch vein.
I think I did it better the 2nd time around.
This is the 5th March I've made into #MapleLeafMarch on my little blog, and I have to admit, this has been the worst one for me. The current relationship between Canada and the US is strained and I hate it.
So yeah, I talk about that today.
So #MapleLeafMarch was supposed to be a one-off gimmick. This is the fifth year I'm doing it, and every year, I discover new music.
I discovered Babygirl accidentally in year 2. I think they're excellent and they're going to be huge stars.
This #MapleLeafMarch has been a lot less fun than prior ones and I am not happy about it.
Maybe Neil Young will cheer me up.
Four women who went on to have pretty solid solo careers in their own right and ALL of whom are amazing.
That's today's #WickedGP.
#MapleLeafMarch is fun!!!
Almost guaranteed I'll be featuring all four of these ladies in solo posts before too long.
So today, the official kickoff.
Anyone who has paid attention will know that I am a gigantic fan of Lights, and this collaboration with @thebeaches.bsky.social (also a big fan of them) is fantastic.
I couldn't not start what I think will be the best #MapleLeafMarch ever with this great song.
I started #MapleLeafMarch on #WickedGP off on Saturday but was too busy to post about it. March is the only time I regularly post on weekends.
So, starting with Saturday, we have up-and-coming artist Sophie Powers.
Had some trouble sharing here recently, but here you go. Here's multiple JUNO winner Charlotte Cardin, including a #MapleLeafMarch worthy performance from literally last night.
You know #MapleLeafMarch is stacked when Feist is pushed to a Saturday.
But please, listen to this. It's fantastic.
The best selling Canadian artist in history is also the best selling French language artist in history. That's why we feature @celinedion during #MapleLeafMarch
I would be delinquent in my #MapleLeafMarch duties if I excluded Gordon Lightfoot.
Honestly, I didn't realize how huge Shania Twain was until I started researching this #MapleLeafMarch #WickedGP four years in the making.
Alanis. Morissette releases a deeply personal song, and #WickedGP is all over it.
Also, #MapleLeafMarch
Once more with feeling:
Today's #WickedGP is the first song ever played on a iPod in public, and it is a #MapleLeafMarch special by Sarah McLachlan
So I've avoided superstars during #MapleLeafMarch because that's been my time to introduce and discover artists that aren't well known outside of Canada.
But Canada HAS produced worldwide superstars.... and Sarah McLachlan is one of them.
