so after finding the “Sosialisme Indonesia” book upthread☝️ in our home library, i decided to checkout the thrift stores 👀 for anything specifically/exclusively about #Marhaenism

he emphasises the importance of womenʼs roles in 🇮🇩 development & welfare

this #Marhaenism poster is so COOL—it says:

it's about lifting people up

not Western-style bitterness, Tall-Poppy Syndrome, greed-envy, perpetual-anger

upward social mobility for all

my understanding of #Marhaenism:
▫️proletariat = owns nothing
▫️Marhaen = working-class/peasant who owns nice things

even as a newly-independent, EXTREMELY YOUNG 🇮🇩 country we were grateful, focused on the positive, privilege-aware
