(3/3) We also learned that Google is our friend! AI can help us write code if we provide a good description of what we need. This can help cut down on time we would have spent combing through stack overflow to see if someone else has a solution to a problem we've encountered. #MarketingNinja25
💡Lastly, for the Plot-A-Thon event, here is another picture. In this picture, Dr. Zivot showed that we can demonstrate the popularity of music genres in Spotify by creating a horizontal bar graph. I posted my visualizations in Tableau Public: public.tableau.com/app/profile/...

💡Here is another picture of the Plot-A-Thon Lunch & Learn event. Here, Dr. Matt Zivot emphasized that Tableau can't do everything for us. He showed how we can display the data geographically on a map. My biggest takeaway was that it is easier than I thought to show data in a map.

💡Yesterday, I attended the Plot-A-Thon Lunch & Learn: Visualizing with Tableau hosted by #CSUChannelIsland. Dr. Zivot demonstrated how to perform data visualization in Tableau with a Spotify dataset. Attached is a picture. I learned how to organize this table is descending order. #MarketingNinja25.
3. Lastly, if you have geographical data that extends to many different locations but want to focus on one area you can do that. For example, if you want to focus on the United States, Tableau allows you to do that. Again, with that dashboard you can modify the visuals as well #MarketingNinja25
📊Lastly, I want to share my takeaways from the Meetup event. My first takeaway was that although I was facing errors in R, the key is to not give up. Another takeaway was learning how to create a word cloud through R. Interested in learning about R, the Meetup link is attached. #MarketingNinja25.
📊To continue, with the event how to scrape BlueSky posts using R, attached is another picture of the event. In that picture, #JimmyXu was talking about how there are so many social media positions and how scraping BlueSky posts with R is a useful skill to learn for those positions. #MarketingNinja25
📊I had the great opportunity to attend a Meetup event hosted by #JimmyXu, where he talked about how to scrape BlueSky posts using R. Attached is a picture of the event. It was my first time scraping BlueSky posts. The biggest challenge I was facing was getting many errors. #MarketingNinja25.
Before the meetup I struggled with navigation of how to use R. But now I have a better grasp and understanding, I still struggle with the concept. But its more practice opportunities.

Attached is the selfie from the event. #MarketingNinja25
#MarketingNinja25 I think learning about focus groups is incredibly useful. This is something I want to learn about as well.
#MarketingNinja25 This past week I learned how to do a data scrape of reddit using R. This data will be used to help show what users are expecting to see in "dumbphones".
My group was also having difficulty on determining survey distribution and incentive. Social media is a great idea, and one we haven't considered. Having an incentive makes data collection of surveys faster. If a survey has no incentive, it will take longer to get results. #MarketingNinja25.
💡Learning Reflection of the Week - I learned about focus groups. This qualitative research method is great for gathering various perspectives from the research population. Focus groups are also inexpensive, but not easy to analyze. It will help us refine our Qualtrics survey. #MarketingNinja25.
The method that I learned for my group project consisted of taking the data camp R course, which should help me and my group members clean and organize our data. #MarketingNinja25
A method I learned for our group project this week was using ggplot with R. The ggplot package will help us finish the project by filtering our data to answer specific questions and by illustrating those answers with unique, yet descriptive, visualizations. ggplot2.tidyverse.org #MarketingNinja25
That is awesome! I think doing in-person interviewing is a great idea and definitely more personable. #MarketingNinja25
This week I learned how to create a survey using qualtrics. It could be helpful for our group project to have all of our gathered information in one spot under one platform. Also, it will help us finish the project by allowing us to make a conclusion from our research #MarketingNinja25
Something new that I learned this week was how to use some commands on R. It is important to know how to use R in order to be able to filter in/out the data that you require. #MarketingNinja25
This week, I learned about the importance of survey distribution. Whether done via social media or in person, it's a great idea to offer some sort of incentive so that you can collect as much data as possible. I also think it's important to make in person surveys conversational. #MarketingNinja25
Hi Grace,
Yes, I agree that having a thought out survey will best result in better responses. When doing the survey it is good to consider many factors such as the amount of questions and if they are understandable. I’m glad you and your team are considering this. Best of luck ! #MarketingNinja25
I learned that once we get our survey finished, we should run it by a focus group. A focus group will help us get different perspectives on our structure and offer feedback on improvements needed. This will help us finish the project by making a final draft of the survey to issue. #MarketingNinja25
This week I have learned a lot about conducting a survey for a research project. This will be beneficial for my group because it is important we create a survey that will provide us with the data we are needing. #MarketingNinja25
#MarketingNinja25 I agree with you that it is important to be intentional with the questions you ask on a survey. Its fascinating how there are so many ways to collect data. I think social media is source I completely overlooked.
This week I learned more about the importance of marketing research. Also, I gained more understanding on how in depth and attention to detail we must have to be effective in our marketing research #MarketingNinja25
#MarketingNinja25 I've learned that it is important to be intentional with the questions that you prepare for a survey. It's okay to collect data in multiple ways (social media, in person, etc.) Taking your time when asking questions is vital so that information is not rushed/feels conversational.
Hi,
I agree that a conjoint analysis is important in marketing and very helpful when you want to know what consumers are interested in. Also, surveying participants is a big part of research, so it is good to know how it should be structured so the participants can understand. #MarketingNinja25
I knew that social media posts are inherently biased, however, I didn't know that there are machine learning techniques that minimize this issue. It would be interesting to see a biased version and one less biased and compare both. #MarketingNinja25
Hi everyone!
My learning experience this week, regarding my class research project, was inspiring💡. One thing I learned was how to scrape data from Reddit. The second thing I learned was how to design a survey. Check out the article I read titled "How to Design a Questionnaire." #MarketingNinja25
This week after reading, I learned that there are various methods. Particulary sticking out to me is the Conjoint Analysis. These methods will help inform and guide me to research for our research project.
