A comic book character who actually got his start in comics was #Ka-Zar, first appearing in "Ka-Zar" #1 on October of 1936 and published by #MartinGoodman, the future founder of #MarvelComics, where he would later reappear in #X-Men #10 on Mar. of 1965.

Future #DC & #Marvel founders, #HarryDonnefeld & #MartinGoodman, got into pulp magazines with books like #SpicyAdventureStories and #MarvelTales, whose risqué covers would get them into trouble with the government more than a few times.

The seeds of the #Marvel/DC rivalry began when #MartinGoodman, the owner of Marvel, ordered #StanLee to create a superhero team to compete with DC's #JusticeLeague. With #JackKirby, Lee came up with the #FantasticFour, a superhero team like no other that would soon be giving DC a run for its money.
